A parallel resonant quasi resonant converter is used for the speed control of a DC motor. The ZCS-QRC fed DC drive is modeled and simulated. It is found that the ZCS-QRC fed DC drive with fuzzy logic controller has several advantages than the PI closed loop control rather has several advantages than the conventional methods such as Phase controlled converters, DC choppers and PWM converters. This paper presents the analysis and simulation of a DC drive fed from zero current switching quasi-resonant converters (ZCS-QRC). The system is modeled such that the facilities of MATLAB can be extended to simulate DC machine, the analysis is done by circuit theory concepts and MOSFET- based parallel QRC fed DC drive systems are implemented in closed loop control by artificial intelligent technique such as Fuzzy logic controller.
